It may come as a shock to you that, when you dress for a date, you’re not necessarily dressing to impress. How many times can you say, out on a date, you’ve stopped to evaluate what the girl walking toward is wearing? All well-dressed gals know: You’re always dressing for women. Women can identify your Haute Hippie fur vest, and they know to covet your Gucci rain boots. Men, quite honestly, could care less. They can identify the blinding cleavage aided by your push-up bra, and they know to covet your ass as accentuated by a Herve Leger bandage dress. It is increasingly difficult to dress to impress … without women claiming you a hooch and men claiming you a prude.
Genuine panache is only acquired when one takes these snapshots and adapts them for what we often call “real life.” Thus they perpetuate the magnificence of good style – good style that leaves us rapt with intrigue and hope. Hope generates dreams, and dreams lead to the continuation of style – in whatever form it may be. This is the essence of style.
